Purpose of This Course
What iscaring? What do you really care for? For whom do you care?
The purpose of this course is to assist each member of the class in aguided personal search to enhance innate gifts and talents, learned skills andbehaviors in the areas of listening, being open and supportive, dealing withcrisis, caring for self, and knowing when and how to refer.
Course Objectives :
- To understand the ministries of the church in cotemporary complex society
- To explore some of the biblical, clinical and contemporary theological aspects ofpastoral care
- To build essential pastoral communication skills and enhance pastoral identity
- To develop a deeper understanding of ourselves as care givers, including the responsibility for self care and boundaries and responsibilities.
- To examine the question, What is God calling me to be and do?
